Frequently Asked Questions
How does the process work for reserving/buying bulk beef?
We accept deposits on bulk beef when we have locker dates reserved. A customer may select the locker and date with the quantity of bulk beef (quarter, half, or whole) they would like. Once deposit is placed the amount of beef is officially reserved. The cattle are grain finished and then delivered directly to the locker. A final invoice is then sent to the customer along with details for calling the locker with cut orders. Once the ranch has been paid for the beef, the customer will pick up meat directly from the locker. No meat will be released by the locker until full payment has been made to the ranch.
Is processing included in bulk beef purchase?
No. You will choose all the cuts you would like from your bulk beef (quarter, half, or whole). You will pay the locker directly for your processing.
If I buy from Diamond P Ranch Meats, who am I supporting?
We are a family run ranch that is proud of our hard work. We have one official employee who is truly part of our family. He is a hard working man that we are happy to have. We also work closely with local veterinarians and our small town feed mill, Blue Grass Feed & Seed. Our meat lockers are all USDA inspected. Each facility has several employees. When purchasing bulk beef from us you are supporting many local families.
How are cattle raised?
We are a proud 5th generation farm. Our calves are born and raised right here. Cattle are typically born in early spring. They spend months with their mother growing and grazing summer pastures. When fall arrives we wean the calves from their mothers and begin finishing them on a grain diet. The diet is based on corn and hay that we also raise. We work closely with an animal nutrition team to ensure we have the right balance for optimum growth.
Is buying bulk beef cheaper than by the cut?
Usually. The advantage of buying bulk beef is knowing you have a variety of high quality cuts in your freezer. When buying in bulk be sure to select a wide range of cuts. There are some great steaks and roast with even just a quarter of beef. When averaged out, bulk is cheaper if you choose a variety and have space in the freezer. You also gain value and peace of mind knowing the animals were raised locally and you’re supporting a family run operation.
I don’t have a big freezer, can I buy just a few cuts at a time?
Yes! Depending on our availability we are happy to offer smaller quantities of beef. Please check our webstore for current offerings or you can always send us a message.
